Diner waitress Katie wants a new life and a hot sex life. When she's struck by lightning and tossed into the life of the ultra rich, she discovers you can get what you wish for. And much more.

"You got any more fairy godfathers flying around who might want to play at the party?"

"We only appear when we are requested," he explained.

"But I didn't ask for a fairy godfather."

"No, darling, you asked for a new life and that is what you received." He used a fountain pen to jot down notes. I leaned over the table to see that the man's penmanship was this fancy print that was both ma sculine and elegant. Was there nothing he did wrong? I bet he never spilled food on himself or even farted. For all I knew, fairy godfathers didn't have sex.

"What exactly do you do inbetween wishes? Do you sit around waiting for the next person to wish for something? Although I'd think that would be happening, oh, every five seconds. Or do you all have some sort of lounge where you hang out until your number is called and it's your turn to grant a wish? Do you go to Hawaii for the surfing?" I figured something that wild might not be too far off even if Christopher didn't look like the type to pull on a pair of trunks and take a surfboard out in the water.

"We are kept very busy," he replied cryptically.

"So you do work all over the world?" I pressed, curious to know more about him.

"That is part of it," he said mysteriously.

Could a person's eyes pop out? Mine sure felt like they did. "All over the universe?" I squeaked. "Aliens and stuff?"

Christopher waved his hand in a lazy arc. I expected to see a visible magic in the air and was disappointed when nothing happened. .

"You must always keep an open mind, darling. There's a very large universe out there. Many things you haven't seen or even imagined."

My gaze drifted toward Josh. For all I knew drool dripped off my chin. But he looked so damn good in a faded pair of jeans shorts and an equally faded red tank top that showed off a body sculpted by hard work, not exercise equipment. A bronze sheen of sweat could be seen on his face and shoulders. Thoughts of pulling him into the shower and washing him off filled my head. Okay, it wasn't just washing him off that I thought about, but we'd eventually get to that.

Any time I looked outside I saw him working somewhere on the grounds like some sexy Energizer Bunny. I don't know how he did it when I'd wake up some mornings feeling as if I'd been pulled backwards through the eye of a needle. The idea of just sleeping a few more hours was always there.

Why couldn't I have met someone like him before? Maybe I wouldn't have ended up with the boyfriend from hell that didn't do anything but drain my bank account and cheat on me. I'd always hoped to have someone in my life who would work with me, but it never seemed to happen.
